Napkin

The other day I went to my local Subway for a quick lunch.  I probably stop by this particular Subway atleast twice a week. The staff is really great. There is one cashier who is pleasant, enthusuastic and super attentive. I have noticed that she remembers many of the regulars orders, etc.  One day last week I showed up a few hours later than normal. The great cashier wasn’t there at that time.  The remaining staff did their job adequately, but lacked any enthusiasm and focus on the customers.  I paid for my meal and went on my way.  When I unpacked my meal I noticed the napkins were missing.  Such a little thing changed my experience. I remembered that the great cashier always says the napkins in the bag followed by a “have a nice day”.  Something so simple makes all the difference.  She is customer focused even down to the napkin.

Your customers notice the little things that are missing.  Somebody onced told me that people seldom notice what you do and always notice what you don’t do.

Till next time – remember the napkins.

  1. Joseph, this is an excellent perspective………so true, it is the LITTLE THINGS in life that are so overlooked, YET, so important. As St. Teresa of the Little Flower is known for, “the little things in life are those that mean a lot when not done.” Congratulations on another small noticed factor in life.
