Take Time to Reflect

We live in an unbelievably fast paced world with cell phones, 24 hour news, social media, plus our face to face personal and business relationships.  We are so busy that we fail to take time to reflect. Lack of reflection on our days, weeks, years, and life can leave us wondering “What is going on.  What did I do at work today? Where did my year go?”, etc.

  • Take a few minutes throughout the day to think on how your time is being spent and what you are grateful for. What’s important to you.
  • Once a week take a half our to think about your week that past and week ahead.
  • Once a month take an hour to think on your month and the months ahead.
  • Once a year take a day or two to reflect on year and the one ahead.

During each of this moments of reflection think of things you are grateful for. Write down your accomplishments, fears, desires, dreams. Ask yourself “Is how I’m living getting me closer to my vision for my life? What am I doing well? What do I need to change, etc”  If you journal at least weekly you’ll have 52 entries to read on your year-end personal retreat. You’ll be able to answer where the year went and how you grew.

Now take just a moment and ask yourself  “Do I value my life enough to take some time to think about how I’ve lived, how I’m living, and how I’m going to live?’  I pray your answer is yes.

It’s a blessed life
