You have probably heard this several times, but what’s one more, never stop learning. The great thing I am discovering is that with each book I read, cd I listen to or seminar I watch, I am building a much stronger foundation for my life. Though very few of these educational tools are life changing on their own, its the continual effort to grow that builds a greater life. More knowledge leads to a better understanding of one’s self, which is where true success lies.
Recently I have read on two specific subjects, fatherhood and sales. At the surface these topics appear unrelated. However, I have seen during my studies that in fact they are very similar. Success as a dad and as a salesperson starts with one core element, TRUST. Without trust the relationships as a dad and in business will not bear quality fruit.
Trust is key in all of life’s adventures. In order to gain the trust of others you must trust yourself. I believe trust in yourself comes from discipline and self-control in keeping to your core beliefs and values. This is why learning is so important. Learning and contemplative action will bring your deep seeded core beliefs to the surface and it is only then that you can shape these beliefs and become the person you wish.
Take time to read, study, and share with others. Learning is not about become the smartest person, it’s about becoming a better person.
