Today I went to the funeral of a friend of mine. Though sad, it was the first funeral where I had a sense of peace in knowing that I would see him again in heaven. As I think back on other funerals I know I will see many of those people again such as my Grandparents. I knew they were going to heaven during their funerals, but I wasn’t certain I was. This time it was different because I was secure with my eternal destination.
During today’s message I was convicted by God. I began to think about all the people I have met and know and asked myself if they all have the same security. Most, I think I will see in heaven, but God told me to share his gift on my blog and the mass e-mail I sent out.
The gift is this. God sent Jesus to die for our sins and pay our price to heaven. The truth is that without this gift of sacrifice we are destined to spend eternity in hell because we are all sinners. As much as you think you are a “good person” we all have sinned against God, we do it each day. Good people don’t get into heaven, Saved people do. Yes you should live life as a “Good Person”, but heaven is only accessible by accepting Christ gift. God sent Jesus to save us from eternal separation from God. He is savior and not just a teacher that will make your life better as many think. God loves you enough to offer this gift. Accepting this will make your life better. My life is better in so many ways. I can’t say it’s always comfortable or easy, but I have true peace.

Today I knew I had to send this out. You may find it weird, I do, it’s out of my character to be so forward with my faith. I will never deny it, I try to live it daily. I just knew I couldn’t go to bed without sharing his gift with my world. Please do the same with yours. Heavens got plenty of room for all.
